Art Zines
The dark cloud resembles dark times, the font on the right hand side has a particular font that is scruffy yet detailed which could contribute towards dark times, on the left hand side also there is another cloud that has lighting coming from it, so that could contribute towards dark time. I am also going to mention the colours of the zine, it is black and white which resembles dark times also. The creator of the zine has used some fancy fonts on the right hand side of the zine.
From looking at this picture of the woman I think she is trying to deal with positives thoughts and negative thoughts, I can see that there is tears coming down her face which resembles emotions and the butterflies resembles positivity. I am also going to mention the colours that have been used in this zine or lack thereof, black and white resembles yin and yang which links to my comments on positive and negative thoughts. Yin and yang is the traditional Chinese emblem for balance between the dark and the light/the good and the evil. The creator has used a basic font which aids towards the thought of darkness. The audience that could be attracted this type of zine could be people who suffer with mental health such as anxiety, depression or who are suicidal.
Illustration Zines
This zine has got bright colours that can resemble positivity and I have also noticed that this zine has drawings of things under water and I have also noticed this zine has air bubbles going upwards, the drawing is very detailed so I am going to say this zine is do with drawing and enticing others who would like to draw to being drawing, this zine is based under water as I mentioned before about the air bubbles and finally, this zine resembles life under water. The creator has not used any font in this zine. The audience that can be attracted to this type of zine are people who are into things that are about the sea.
This zine mainly has darker colors rather than bright colors, the main colors consist of black, white, red, there is other colors on the such as blue and pink but they haven’t been used that often. The person in the book looks sad so it could be to do with something basing around sadness and depression, the dark colors also resemble that something dark is going on. The creator has not used any font in this zine. The audience that can be attracted to this type of zine are people who are into reading things about sadness, depression and dark stuff.
This zine has no bright colors, it just has dark colors, I can see that the picture is about life outside, I can see that there is things to do with grass and other greenery, but if I talk about the colors being dark, it could be about what things were like and how things have changed. The creator has not used any font in this zine. The audience that can be attracted to this type of zine are people who are into life outside such as the greenery.
Cartoon Zines
Cartoons are always meant to be funny and cheerful, even though there is no color on the pages, it doesn’t really matter as comics are meant to be funny, comics are mainly aimed towards younger people but there is a lot of older aged people who still read comics. The creator of this zine has used fancy font to entice the audience to read what is being said.
Evaluation:
What I think went well was the anatomy of a zine collector though at the same time I wish I came up with more funnier and better words to describe the person so that is something I’d work on in the future. I will admit that I was a little slow this term doing the work but I still managed to get it done and made sure it was on time. The skills I have developed are how to turn something into gold on Photoshop, I have learnt how to make pages on Photoshop and InDesign. I believe that these will help me in my future career choices because of what I want to do.
